7mm wetsuits
A 7mm wetsuit is the most commonly used wetsuit for water sports and diving in the Netherlands and other northern European waters. Due to the good insulation values of a 7mm wetsuit, these diving suits are suitable for cold waters. There are different classes among the 7mm wetsuits, namely A & B. Class A is suitable for water temperatures between 7 to 12 ºC and class B is suitable for water temperatures between 10 to 16 ºC. For warmer waters, you can use a 5mm wetsuit or a 3mm wetsuit.
7mm wetsuits with excellent thermal insulation
A 7mm wetsuit provides excellent thermal insulation and protection. These wetsuits are thicker than most wetsuits on the market and therefore provide excellent insulation and protection from cold conditions.
When do I need a 7mm wetsuit?
A 7mm wetsuit is needed when diving or swimming in colder waters. These wetsuits are designed to keep you warm in water with temperatures between 7 and 16 degrees Celsius (depending on class). If you dive into these waters without the proper wetsuit, you run the risk of hypothermia, which can have serious consequences.
Characteristics of 7mm wetsuits
7mm wetsuits have several features that distinguish them from other wetsuits. The most important feature, of course, is the thickness of the neoprene. Due to the thickness of 7mm, the wetsuit offers excellent insulation against the cold. Moreover, these wetsuits often have extra insulating materials in the chest, back, and legs to provide additional protection for the most important parts of the body.
7mm wetsuits for men
7mm wetsuits for men are available in different sizes and models. There are wetsuits with a front closure and a back closure, and you can also differentiate between semi-dry and a wetsuit. When choosing a 7mm wetsuit for men, it is important to pay attention to fit and comfort. Make sure the wetsuit fits well and is not too tight so you can still move freely.
7mm wetsuits for women
7mm wetsuits for women are designed specifically for the female body and come in a variety of sizes and styles. As with men's wetsuits, these wetsuits are available with either a front closure or a back closure, also you can differentiate between semi-dry and a wetsuit. When choosing a 7mm wetsuit for women, it is important to consider fit and comfort. Make sure the wetsuit fits well and is not too tight, so you can still move freely. A well-fitting wetsuit is important to provide maximum thermal insulation and to prevent water from entering the wetsuit. Moreover, when choosing a 7mm wetsuit for women, you may want to consider additional features, such as a front zipper or extra elastic neoprene material at the arms and legs for more flexibility.
