In need of a scuba diving suit? At Lucas Divestore you will find a wide range of scuba diving suits for men, women and children. In our range, you will find dry suits, wetsuits, semi-dry suits, shorties and various accessories from globally known brands.
Diving with just your swimwear is impractical. For that reason, we here at Lucas Divestore have a wide assortment of wetsuits, drysuits, undersuits, gloves, diving shoes, rashguards, shortys and even afterdive clothing.
In our range, you will find various wetsuits. Wetsuits are (almost) always made of neoprene and available in different thicknesses. Which thickness is right for you depends on the waters you will be diving in. In general, the wetsuits are available in 3, 5 and 7 mm thick.
3 mm wetsuits are often referred to as tropical suits. These are suitable for diving in warmer waters or in the pool. The 3 mm wetsuits are available as a shorty (a body with short sleeves and short legs) and as a full suit (suit with long sleeves and legs).
The 5 mm wetsuits are used in waters of 20 ºC or warmer (for example, when diving in the Mediterranean or Egypt). 5 mm wetsuits are available with long sleeves and legs, also referred to as a full suit.
The 7 mm wetsuits are often used for diving in Northern European waters. 7 mm wetsuits are available as a full suit with a separate cap or with a cap attached to the body. Suits with a cap are also called an overall.

Dry suits are used when diving in colder waters. When the water temperature drops below 12 degrees, it is wise to dive with a dry suit. A dry suit has thermal benefits for both above and below water. Because the dry suits are made of the material Neoprene, it offers good insulation for many diving situations. The dry suit traps a layer of air between your body, the scuba diving suit and the water. This layer of air makes sure you do not cool down as quickly and remain warm.
Semi-dry suits are almost the same as "normal" wetsuits. The big difference with a traditional wetsuit is that with semi-dry suits there are seals on the sleeves and legs, these seals ensure that the water that comes behind your scuba diving suit is not continuously refreshed. This way you will maintain more of the warmth. There are semi-dry suits with a horizontal front or back closure that are also included in dry suits, no water can enter through the zipper.
In the most ideal circumstance, a semi-dry suit only leaves a cup of water left behind during the entire dive, you can imagine that this is the closest to a dry suit.
A scuba diving suit is not complete without the right accessories. To properly close your scuba diving suit it is important to wear diving gloves and diving shoes. The diving shoes serve as protection for your feet and offer protection against the cold. The diving gloves protect you against the cold water and various objects and/or animals. In addition, a rash guard is very suitable to protect your body against rashes and irritations.
